About Eclipse TD
Eclipse TD is a joint-venture of Fujitsu, Toyota & Nippon Denso, three multinational giants. The original purpose of the company was to develop speakers for Lexus luxury cars, with audiophile speakers a logical result. The research and development resources available to Eclipse TD simply dwarfs those of other speaker manufacturers.
Best speakers ever? Stereophile seems to think so. Robert Deutsch described the original Eclipse TD712z as "an extraordinary speaker whose clarity, transparency, resolution, imaging, and timbral accuracy match or exceed those of just about every other speaker I've had in my system or heard at shows." Build quality and styling are superb. The TD712z Mk 2 is one of our reference speakers here at On A Higher Note. Its smaller siblings, even the TD307 Mk2As, babies of the range, share its sonic signature; immediacy, palpability as well as a well as an immense soundstage. They sound utterly natural.
